Community Guidelines

Modern Brotherhood works because members treat each other with respect. These guidelines apply everywhere — posts, comments, profiles, and messages.

Last updated October 31, 2026

What we stand for

  • Respect. Treat every member the way you'd want to be treated on your hardest day.
  • Empathy. Read the “type of support” label. If he asked to be heard, listen before advising.
  • Honesty. Share your genuine experience. Don't pretend to be someone you're not.
  • Constructive advice. Offer perspective, not orders. What worked for you may not work for everyone.
  • Confidentiality. What's shared here stays here. Don't screenshot or repost members' stories elsewhere.
  • Supportive disagreement. You can disagree without attacking. Challenge ideas, not people.
  • Personal responsibility. You're responsible for what you post and how you treat others.

What's not allowed

  • Bullying, harassment, or persistent unwanted contact
  • Hate speech or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or other protected characteristics
  • Threats of violence against anyone
  • Doxxing — sharing anyone's real name, address, workplace, photos, or other identifying details without consent
  • Scams, fraud, spam, or unsolicited selling (including courses, coaching, and investment schemes)
  • Impersonating another person, member, or our staff
  • Encouraging, instructing, or glorifying suicide or self-harm
  • Dangerous or exploitative advice, including advice that could cause physical, financial, or legal harm
  • Sexual content, and any content involving minors in an inappropriate context
  • Sharing another person's private information, including messages someone sent you privately

Protect your own privacy

Don't share details you aren't comfortable with other members seeing — full names, employers, locations, or identifying details about your partner, children, or family. If you want to talk about something sensitive, consider posting anonymously.

Peer support, not professional treatment

Members share lived experience, not professional services. Nothing here is medical, mental-health, legal, or financial advice. If you or someone else may be in danger, contact emergency services. See Safety & Crisis Resources.

If you see something

Use the Report option on any post, comment, profile, or message. Reports are confidential. If someone may be at risk of harming themselves, choose “Self-Harm or Safety Concern” so moderators see it first. You can also block any member at any time.

How we enforce these guidelines

Trained human moderators review reports. Depending on severity, we may remove content, issue a warning, restrict messaging, suspend an account temporarily, or ban it permanently. Automated tools may flag content for review, but a person always makes the decision — we never permanently ban anyone solely because a filter flagged them. You can appeal any decision from your account status page.
